What is the Association
Pro Vanha Eurooppa?
“Vanha Eurooppa” is a direct translation of “Old Europe”, an overarching concept created by Marija Gimbutas in the 1970s. The Finnish version of the name is an equivalent of “Danube Civilization” or “Ancient European Civilization (AEC)". The Association Pro Vanha Eurooppa is a background organization for the European Branch of The Institute of Archaeomythology.
The purpose of Pro Vanha Eurooppa is to support research on the Danube Civilization and archaeomythological projects, as well as research conducted in the spirit of the Danube Civilization, and on related themes. The purpose of the Association is to advance core values of the ancient civilization, which include gender equality, peaceful communality without power struggles, and to encourage cooperative togetherness favoring the common good.
The Association fulfills its purpose by supporting and/or organizing research related to the above-mentioned areas of study, supporting activities for research, publicity, popularization, art productions, events and functions, practices and teaching.
Mikä on Pro Vanha Eurooppa?
Pro Vanha Eurooppa -yhdistyksen tarkoitus on tukea Vanhan Euroopan sivilisaation tutkimusta, arkeomytologista tutkimusta sekä Vanhan Euroopan hengessä tehtyä tai siihen liittyviä teemoja käsittelevää tutkimusta. Yhdistyksen tarkoituksena on myös edistää Vanhasta Euroopasta peräisin olevia perusarvoja, joita ovat sukupuolten tasa-arvo, rauhanomainen yhteisöllisyys ilman valtapeliä ja pyrkimys yhteishyvään.
Tarkoitustaan yhdistys toteuttaa tukemalla ja tarvittaessa järjestämällä yllä kuvattuihin tutkimusalueisiin liittyvää tutkimusta, tutkimuksen tukitoimintaa, tiedottamista, yleistajuistamista, taidetuotantoja, tapahtumia, tilaisuuksia, käytäntöjä sekä opetustoimintaa.

Introducing the Association Pro Vanha Eurooppa and its programmatic orientation
In a series of presentations, ancient living-conditions in the wider Danube Region will be illuminated, with the intention to provide a framework for an understanding of the achievements in the pre-Greek era and, to convey information about a major change in the perception of cultural history: Ancient Greek civilization of antiquity was not the cradle of western civilization.
It assumed a different role which was that of a turntable for the transmission of knowledge about the cultural heritage of the ancient Danube civilization.
